May 4, 2017 Real Bride – Brooke

One of my favourite parts of my job is the connection I form with each individual bride. This bride was extra special – through the process of our fittings we worked out that not only did each of our grandmothers know each other; but our parents knew each other from way back too. Without realising it, we’d played together as children!

Brooke came to me knowing she wanted a long sleeved bohemian wedding dress that was unique, comfortable, and one-of-a-kind. During our initial consultation we sketched up a design that was exactly what she was after! Brooke’s beautiful gown featured tendrils of silvery lace, delicate bohemian sleeves, and a flowing handkerchief hem skirt with lace appliqué throughout.

Each of my gowns gets a ‘Something Blue’ bow and a ‘Something Old’ piece of vintage lace carefully sewn on the inside. When I finished Brooke’s gown, I lovingly sewed a piece of vintage lace from my grandmothers collection on to this extra special brides wedding dress – I know my grandmother would approve, and I feel incredibly honoured to be in a position where I can do something so special.

Brooke had these kind words to say about her experience with KWD:

“Kimberley brought my dream wedding dress to life!
I came to Kimberley with a jumble of ideas and she turned them into something incredible! Kimberley was so thoughtful and caring each step of the way, ensuring that every detail was perfect.

My dress was absolutely amazing – I honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect gown. Thank you Kimberley, you are beyond talented.”

Brooke and Phil’s wedding was held on a spectacular 100 acre family farm in Oberon with beautiful DIY elements throughout.

Congratulations Brooke – you looked spectacular!
